Friends of the Pedon Society (FOP) is the graduate student's social convening body, but they do much more. Their mandate is to provide a non-structured forum for organizing social activities for graduate students, staff and faculty of the Department of Renewable Resources.
The University of Alberta Graduate Students' Association (GSA) is an organization representing all graduate students at the University of Alberta. The Organization is governed by the GSA Constitution and the GSA Council, that meets once a month throughout the year. The GSA also has an Annual General Meeting, usually held in March. The budget for the next year is presented at this meeting. The daily operations of the GSA are run by the five elected members of the GSA Executive, the GSA office staff, a few GSA officers, and a number of GSA Committees. For further information visit the GSA website.
